The Vienna Boy’s Choir has been a phenomenon of excellence and cultural presence of Austria for more than 500 years. Since its establishment in 1498, the choir has nurtured and witnessed the growth of many professional musicians. Composers Jacobus Gallus, Franz Schubert, and conductors Hans Richter, Felix Mottl and Clemens Krauss were members of the choir. Musicians like Christoph Willibald Gluck, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Antonio Salieri and Anton Bruckner have worked with the choir.
Today the choir is led by Gerald Wirth. There are around 100 choristers between the ages of ten and fourteen, divided into four touring choirs, and giving around 300 concerts and performances each year in all over the world. In 2013, the choir will return to the stage of Guangzhou Opera House since 2011, continues to delight you with their pure tone, distinctive charm and diverse, crowd-pleasing repertoire.
