As the award winner in the “ECHO Jazz” 2012, Pascal Schumacher has been described as a “Goldsmith” in his art, a boundary-pushing musician, a resourceful improviser and an imaginative composer. Keen to explore the links that exist between many musical genres, he is a Vibraphone player with a unique aptitude and sensitivity who manages to inject panache and flamboyance into every performance.
The Pascal Schumacher Quartet was formed in 2002 and based in Brussels and Luxembourg. The musicians produce a contemporary sound that is beautiful, melodic and effortlessly articulated. Clear melodic motifs, gloomy and bright, floating on melancholic waves, in other words music rich of imagination and expression, filled with altering emotions, going from soothing to violent, always with passion. Up to now the band was playing on 5 continents and in many countries reaching the hearts of thousands of people.
2004:The Band won First Prize & Public Prize at the legendary jazz competition “Tremplin Jazz d’Avignon” France.
2005:Pascal Schumacher won the Belgian Django d’Or Award in category New Talent
2007:The band’s album "Silbergrau" wass chosen Best Belgian Jazz Record of the year by cultural magazine “Knack”.
2012:Pascal Schumacher won the “ECHO Jazz” award in the category “Instrumentalist/special instruments” for his album “Bang My Can”.
