“Les Petits Chanteurs a la croix de Bois (little angels of the wooden cross)” is one of the best boys choirs in the world along with the Vienna Boys Choir and Toelzer Knabenchor. The name of the choir is derived from their traditional white albs & wooden cross outfit. Formed in 1907,The Little Singers of Paris concentrated ainly on religious repertoire until a young priest named Abbe Maillet took over and introduced popular French and foreign songs in 1924. Expanding its repertoire enabled the choir to enlarge its audiences and established the choir as one of the best Gregorian choirs in the world. The choir has since toured over 80 countries around the world and was named affectionately as the “Messenger of peace” by the Pope.
