This is a triangle among three famous poets in the Qing Dynasty, of admiration, disillusions, and sacrifice. Embroiled in a national scandal, Zhao-Qian Wu was sentenced to an exile. Zhen-guan Gu, his best friend, spent more than 20 years rescuing in vain. Gu met young Xing-de Nalan, son of the powerful prime minister, and Nalan joined Gu in his laborious journey of rescuing Wu. When Wu was finally pardoned and returned to Beijing, Gu and Nalan rushed excitedly to meet the cause-and-result of their lifelong endeavor, only to find Wu had changed into someone Gu could never have known.
A Production of Koo Foundation in Taiwan, this opera was recomposed from QihongGuo’s original drama into a Xique script by Baochun Li, directed by Baochun Li, and played by Baochun Li in the lead, hand in hand with the talented and renowned Zhenrong Qian, Yulin Huang, Yanyi Yang, and Yuxuan Li.
