In a mix of dance, music and words, I Am Son is a memorable voyage through images of our contemporary world, exploring existential questions along the way. Three dynamic dancers play with quality of movement and flip swiftly between irony, physical intensity, and lightness. In an attempt to understand our birthright, they wonder who we are and where we come from.
The show is part of “Europa Inestable”, a European Union funded project that has created a network between companies and venues from Spain, Italy, Germany, and Portugal to explore the theme of contemporary European identity. Since its debut in 2012, the show has been presented in Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany and Spain.

About the Company
Discovering a common curiosity in exploring the communicative potential of the body in balance between movement and dance, drama, music, and soundscapes, choreographer and performer Lara GUIDETTI, dramatist Sarah CHIARCOS, musician and playwright Marcello GORI, and producerr Fabio FERRETTI decided to pool their talents together in 2007. Since its birth, Sanpapié has staged 7 full-length performances and shorter pieces in Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom.
In 2012, Sanpapiè participated in Islotes en Red, a project funded by the European Union, in which it presented the show I am son. In 2013, the company presented 2 + 2 = 5, a set of 5 different choreographies dedicated to Isadora Duncan, Mary Wigman, Martha Graham, Pina Bausch, and Luciana Melis. The same year, it also produced Mi sono perso a Milano, the first musical theatre show written by Sanpapié’s resident composer and musician, Marcello Gori.
