Spring Equinox 2015, premiered in LDTX Theatre in the spring of 2015, is a gathering of LDTX dancers’ personal works. The performance will be in two parts: Spring Equinox Part 1, performed on 27th, 28th March and Spring Equinox Part 2, performed on 3nd, 4rd April.
Spring Equinox 2015 includes solos, duets, trios and group dances of various styles. Thirteen dancers and choreographers, some of them the newest recruitment and some of them the veteran dancers of LDTX, are all with different backgrounds, experiences, personalities and perspectives of life. They will share their heartfelt passion on stage, and make the show the most eye-catching of the year.
Spring Equinox series has a ten years track record. These splendid showcases have served as platforms for young choreographers’ artistic development. LDTX is proud to support these young and vigorous artists speaking with their unique and innovative voices.
BeijingDance/LDTX (Lei Dong Tian Xia; literally translated as Thunder Rumbles Under Heaven) was founded in September 2005. LDTX is the first officially registered independent professional dance company outside of the China government system. Under the artistic direction of Willy TSAO, China’s foremost figure in modern dance, and executive artistic director Li Han-Zhong, the company boasts an ensemble of technically exquisite dancers with diverse creativities and strong discipline from all over China.
The Company aims to create a free platform for contemporary dance artists in China, and to promote the conception of modern dance as a multi-faceted form of arts with emphasis on each artist’s distinctive personality, modernity and originality.
LDTX has produced numerous works of different scales and styles including All River Red, Cold Dagger, One Table N Chairs, Pilgrimage, The Pseudo Eagle, Unspeakable, Standing Before Darkness, First Ritual, Sorrowful Song, Layer Code, Treading on Grass, A place, etc. These excellent works showcase the vigorous and unconstrained creativity of Chinese dancers, and reveal the earth-shaking development of the Chinese culture in the past decade.
LDTX has toured extensively over five continents with overwhelming response from audience of the United States, Canada, Austria, France, Italy, Korea, Germany, Israel, Australia, Mexico, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia, Poland, Algeria, Costa Rica, etc, making LDTX an important cultural ambassador from China to the world.
LDTX is also committed to various exhibition projects. In 2008, the company hosted the first Beijing Contemporary Dance Festival. In 2012, the event developed into the fort-night Beijing Dance Festival and has since emerged as the grandest in scale and the most influential modern dance activity in China.
LDTX works hard on advocacy of modern dance by running a well equipped theatre/studio setup, as well as a training center that offers dance courses of various levels to the public. LDTX also collaborates with brand-names like Porsche, Montblanc, Mercedes-Benz, Cartier, etc. on commercial projects.
BeijingDance/LDTX, with its sublime artistic vision and strong dancing ensemble, confirms its irreplaceable position in china’s modern dance development.

春分贰SPRING EQUINOX—Part Two
TANG Ting-Ting was born in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, and began her training at the Affiliated High School of Beijing Contemporary Music Institute from 2006 to 2010. She became a student of the Beijing Music Institute in 2006, and joined BeijingDance/LDTX as a dancer in 2010. Her major choreographies are Transcendence and The Beam.
LIU Yin-Tao was born in Xichang, Sichuan Province. She studied dance at the Chengdu Culture and Arts School from 1998 to 2004. She enrolled in the dance department at Sichuan University in 2004, and continued her post-graduated study from 2008 to 2011. She received an MFA degree in 2011 and joined LDTX the same year. Her major choreography: South Street and Original Color-Peach Color.
LI Ke-Hua was born in Jinan, Shandong province. She began her training at Secondary School of Shandong Art Academy in 2009 and became a student at Central University of Nationalities, in the Dance Department in 2013. Li joined BeijingDance/LDTX as a dancer in 2013.

GONG Xing-xIng was born in Xinjiang, and received her training in the dance department of PLA Art Academy from 2000 to 2006. In 2009, she became a student of the Beijing Dance Academy in the choreography department. After graduation, she became a dancer at Beijing Dance Company and Tao Dance Theater (Beijing). She joined BeijingDance/LDTX as a dancer in 2013. Her major choreographies include The Letter, 3’26“, Quicksand, Elegant city and others.
JIN Xiao-lin was born in Macau. She studied ballet at the Macau Conservatory Dance School from 2005 to 2009 and continued her studies at the Beijing Dance Academy from 2010-2014, and joined BeijingDance/LDTX as an intern in September 2014.
汉族，出生于辽宁大连。2005 -2010年就读于辽宁歌舞团附属艺术学院舞蹈专业；2010 -2014年就读于上海戏剧学院中国民间舞专业，在校期间曾参与新加坡巡演和香港文化交流活动；现为北京雷动天下现代舞团实习生。
Liu Ying-Ying was born in Dalian, Liaoning Province. She studied dance in the High School of Liaoning ensembles from 2005 to 2010;She studied Folk Dance in the Shanghai Theatre Academy from 2010 to 2014, In September, 2014, She became an intern in BeijingDance/LDTX in September 2014.
Fan Lu was born in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. She studied dance in Shan Xi Xi Ju Zhi Ye Xue Yuan from 2000 to 2005; She studied Dance Education in Minzu University of China in 2006, and continued her post-graduated study from 2010 to 2013, and received an MFA degree. In September 2014, she became an intern in BeijingDance/LDTX.
QIAN Kun was born in Zoucheng, Shandong Province. He began his dance training at the Qingdao School of Arts in 1998 and enrolled in the Shandong Art School’s Dance Department in 2005. He joined BeijingDance/LDTX in 2009. His major choreographies include Hypnotize, Cause, A Sudden Happening Monks and Secular Life Regret, Hear Say and Return.
Zha Xi Wang Jia of Tibetan ethnicity, was born in Yushu, Qinghai Province. He enrolled in the Qinghai Province Arts and Cultural School in 1999 and at Dance Department in the Central University of Nationalities in 2005. In 2012 he joined BeijingDance/LDTX. His major choreography include Silence•Ground, Time Line, etc.
ADIYA of Mongolian ethnicity was born in Erdos in Inner Mongolia. He began his dance training at Inner Mongolia Yi Meng Arts School in 1998. In 2002 he became a member of the Inner Mongolian Military Dance Company, and joined Beijing Tenggeli Tala Arts Ensemble in 2004. In 2012 he joined BeijingDance/LDTX. His major choreography includes Take a step.
GAO Yang was born in Xianyang, Shannxi province. He graduated in choreography of the Dance Department of Nanjing University in 2013 and then joined BeijingDance/LDTX as a dancer.
LIU Sen-Lin was born in Hejiang, Sichuan Province. He began his dance training at the Sichuan School of Arts from 2004 to 2008, and became a dancer of the Chengdu Military Dance Company in 2008. He joined BeijingDance/LDTX in 2014.
DU Yan-Hao graduated in Classical Dance from the Affiliated High School of the Beijing Dance Academy in 2005 and furthered his studies in the New Zealand School of Dance since 2009 with a Diploma in Dance Performance. DU Yan-Hao was engaged as a dancer for the Beijing dance company (2013-2014), New Zealand’s Black Grace Dance Company (2012) and worked with many other renowned international choreographers and dance companies such as Jiri Kylian, Paul Taylor’s Company B, Janis Claxton Dance Company and Malia Johnston. He joined BeijingDance/LDTX in January 2014.
Ma Yue was born in Tianjin. He studied dance in Tianjin Art School from 1998-2004. After graduation, he entered the Tianjin Song and Dance Theatre Dance as a dancer; He studied choreography in Nankai University of Continuing Education school of dance from 2007-2012. He entered the Shanghai City Performing Arts Co. Ltd. As a rehearsal supervisory in 2011. He joined Chongqing Ballet as a lead dancer in 2014 and then joined BeijingDance/LDTX as a Dancer in September 2014.
